Charging the Battery
To minimize damage to the battery and allow the battery to charge fully, do the
following slow charging procedure. You can do this charging procedure with a
constant current battery charger that is locally available.
IMPORTANT
Follow the manufacturer's instructions when using a battery charger.
Note: Using specific gravity of the battery cells is the most accurate procedure
of determining the battery condition.
1. Determine the battery charge level from either its specific gravity or open
circuit voltage.

2. Determine the charging time and rate using the manufacturer's battery
charger instructions or the following Battery Charge Level Table (page 5–65) .
