999; after 999, the next message will start at “1” again. If you need or want to, you can reset the message counter
using the
LASTMSG
command—just enter
LASTMSG

. The next message entered after this command will be
numbered, “1.” If you enter a different
LASTMSG
number other than zero, then the next message will be assigned
