The
CWID command lets you change the “send CWID” control character typed at the end of your Baudot and
ASCII RTTY dialogue.
When the DSP reads this character embedded in the text or keyboard input, it switches modes and sends your
callsign in Morse code, at the keying speed set by
MSPEED
. As soon as your callsign has been sent in Morse, the
DSP turns off your transmitter and returns to receive.

OFF RS-232 cable Pin 8 is permanently set high (default).

RS-232 cable Pin 8 follows the state of the CON (or DCD) LED.
DCDCONN
defines how the DCD (Data Carrier Detect) signal affects pin 8 in the RS-232 interface to your
computer or terminal. Some programs such as PBBS software require that DCDCONN be ON .
DCDCONN also works in the RAWHDLC and KISS modes. In RAWHDLC and KISS , no packet connections are
known to the DSP. With
DCDCONN ON
, the state of the radio DCD is sent to the RS-232 DCD pin (pin-8). This
may be necessary to some Host applications that need to know when the radio channel is busy.

OFF Echos characters when sent to the DSP by the computer.

Echos characters actually sent on-the-air by the DSP.
The Echo-As-Sent (
EAS ) command functions in all modes except packet. EAS lets you to choose the way data is
displayed on your monitor screen or printer. To display your text on your computer screen exactly as you’re typing
it in or while sending it from a disk file, leave
EAS OFF . To see the actual data being sent from your DSP-232 to
your radio and transmitted on the air, set
EAS ON
.
With
EAS ON
in Morse and Baudot RTTY, you’ll see only uppercase characters on your screen and the data
actually transmitted to the other station.
With
EAS ON
in AMTOR mode A and PACTOR (ARQ), you’ll see characters echoed on your screen only after
the distant station has validated ack ed your block of three characters. For packet, the MXMIT command should be
used.
Nulls ($00) are not echoed, including the nulls produced by
DIDDLE ON
in ASCII.

“
n ” A hexadecimal value from $00-$7F used to denote the error character used by the DSP for Morse, ARQ,
FEC, PACTOR, NAVTEX, and TDM.
“
n ” is a hex value $00-7F, default $5F (underscore). This is the character that the DSP displays when it receives a
corrupted or bad character in Morse, ARQ, FEC, PACTOR, NAVTEX or TDM. You may want to set this character
