DSP-232 Problems
Problem Symptom Cause Test/Solution
Unable to transmit. TX indicator on the DSP illuminates
but radio doesn’t switch to transmit.
TX indicator does not illuminate.
Operating mode is packet and DCD
indicator is illuminated.
Radio cable PTT functional test
good.
XMITOK
is
OFF .
Threshold control on DSP isn’t
properly adjusted.
PTT polarity selection jumper set
incorrectly.
PTT keying transistor damaged.
Disconnect radio cable from Data
Controller, then connect the Red and
Brown wire on the radio cable plug
together. While short exists, radio
should transmit.
Turn
XMITOK ON .
Adjust Threshold control so that DCD
illuminates only when other stations
are sending.
Set jumper for correct PTT polarity.
Replace damaged component (Q5) or
contact AEA for assistance.
Sign-on banner not correctly displayed. Mismatch between terminal or
computer program serial settings and
DSPs settings. Match settings between DSP and
computer program. For example if
your computer is set for 8 data bits
and no parity, set the DSP for
AWLEN 8
and
PARITY 0
, then issue
a
RESTART
to cause these changes
to take effect in the DSP.
DSPs buffer is filling with undesired
information when computer is off-line. MULT indicator is flashing when
after a period of absence from the
DSP. Text was received or monitored
unintentionally. Check that following commands are
set as follows:
MONITOR 0
MCON 0
MDMON OFF
MDIGI OFF
MBX %
MBELL OFF
RFEC OFF
UBIT 13 ON
