Packet Problems
Problem Symptom
Cause Test/Solution
Unable to transmit.
You copy stations on the frequency
you’re operating on, but when you
attempt to connect your radio
doesn’t transmit or nothing appears
to happen.
You copy stations on the frequency
you’re operating on, but when you
attempt to connect your radio
doesn’t transmit. You eventually
see a message that says:
Retry
Count Exceeded,
Disconnected
Threshold control mis-adjusted.
SQUELCH
is turned on and squelch
(black) input in the radio cable isn’t
connected.
Squelch input is connected
XMITOK
is
OFF.
Fault in radio cable wiring.
Adjust Threshold control so that the
DCD indicator is on when other
stations are sending and is off when
the channel is free.
Turn
SQUELCH
OFF
.
In virtually all cases we recommend
that the Squelch input not be used
and to turn
SQUELCH
OFF
.
Turn
XMITOK
ON.
Recheck radio cable wiring.
Other stations are unable to connect to
you.
Your station appears to ignore
connect requests. Other station
doesn’t acknowlege that your station
is on-the-air.
CFROM
is set to ignore incoming
connect requests.
MYCALL
isn’t set or is incorrectly
set.
USERS
set to zero.
Possible unable-to-transmit problem.
Set
CFROM
to
ALL
.
Set
MYCALL
to your callsign.
Set
USERS
to a value greater than
zero.
