DSP repeatedly displays

MODE
during its analysis.
Signal is encrypted or is a
synchronous data transmission—that
is, it has no start/stop bits or
recognizable repeating pattern.
Signal is packet radio.
Signal is PACTOR. Tune to a station that uses
asynchronous data transmission.
These transmissions are too short and
unpredictable to be analyzed by
SIAM.
This signal type is currently
unidentifiable by SIAM.
Maildrop Problems

Unable to connect to other stations. DSP prints

You’re still logged onto your own
Maildrop. Exit your Maildrop—enter a B , for

Maildrop messages aren’t date and time
stamped. When scanning the message list you
see “ . . . . ” in the Date and Time
fields. DSP has been “restarted” since the
clock was last set; the power failed
the DSP was turned off, or
RESTART
was issued.
Set clock.
Verify stability of the DSPs power
supply—must not drop below
12 VDC @ 1 A.
Other stations are unable to connect or
link with your Maildrop. Stations receiving a
Busy
response. DSPs memory buffer is full.
USERS
command set to zero.
You’re currently logged into your
Maildrop.
MailDrop is OFF
Empty buffer by either turning the
DSP off, then on again;
Start serial communications between
the DSP and your computer by
pressing (
CTRL-Q
) and/or
( CTRL-X ).
Set
USERS
to
1
or greater.
Exit your Maildrop—enter a

B
(ye).
