Calibration—475
o.
Repeat step 17-h.
18. Adjust CH 1 Position Centering
a. Set the CH 1 V O L T S /D IV switch to 2 m V.
b. Adjust the Standard Amplitude Calibrator for a
50 m V output.
c.
CHECK—The top of the
CRT display can be
positioned below the center horizontal graticule line, and
that the bottom of the display can be positioned above the
center horizontal graticule line.
d.
A DJU ST—CH 1 Position Centering adjustment, R176
(see Fig. 5-9), so the top of the CRT display can be
positioned below the center horizontal graticule line, and
the bottom of the display can be positioned above the
center horizontal graticule line.
19. Adjust CH 2 Variable Voits/Division Balance
a. Set the CH 2 V O L T S /D IV switch to 5 mV and the
V E R T MODE switch to CH 2.
b. C HECK—That the CH 2 U NC AL light turns on when
the V A R control is out of the detent position.
c.
CHECK—CRT display for 2 divisions or less of trace
shift when rotating the CH 2 VAR control through its
range.
d.
A DJU ST—CH 2 Variable Balance adjustment, R210
(see Fig. 5-10), for minimum trace shift when rotating the
CH 2 VAR control through its range.
Fig. 5-9. Location of CH 1 Position Centering adjustment.
e.
Return the CH 2 V A R control to the detent position.
20. Adjust CH 2 Gain Switch Balance
a. Set the CH 2 V O L T S /D IV switch to 2 m V .
b. Position the trace to the center horizontal line.
c.
C HECK —CRT
display for
minimum trace shift
between 2 m V and 5 m V positions of the CH 2 V O L T S /
D IV switch.
d.
A D JU ST—CH 2 Gain Switch Balance adjustment,
R235 (see Fig. 5-10), for minimum trace shift between
2 m V and 5 mV positions of the CH 2 V O L T S /D IV switch.
21. Check CH 2 IN V E R T Balance
a. Set the CH 2 AC-GND-DC switch to GND.
b. Position the trace to the center horizontal graticule
line.
c. Push the IN V E R T pushbutton.
d. CHECK—For less than 1 division of trace shift when
switching from normal to inverted.
e. A DJU ST—Invert
Balance adjustment,
R215
(see
Fig. 5-10), for minimum trace shift between positions of
the IN V E R T switch.
f. Return the IN V E R T to the normal (out) position.
