Reason: Maximum return temperature exceeds limit value.
Cause:
Systems that pre-heats the water heater return temperature too much/high.
Corrective action:
Reduce pre heat temperature of external heat source.
Cause:
The need for heat in the system suddenly drops causing hot return water to the water
heater.
Corrective action:
Dampen external heating system control to prevent sudden water heater temperature
rise.

Reason
No temperature rise measured during firing.
Cause:
When the unit starts firing it expects to measure a temperature rise. If this temperature
rise is not detected, there is suspicion that there is no medium (water) present, to transfer
heat from combustion to the sensor.
The lack of water can cause this fault when the unit is firing.
Corrective action:
Make sure there is water present in the unit before firing.

Cause:
Bad wiring/connection in the return sensor circuit.
Corrective action:
Check for loose wiring/connections in the return sensor circuit.

Corrective action:
Replace return sensor.

Replace flue gas sensor.
