Exporting and
Importing
Objet Build
Trays
When ȱ you ȱ save ȱ build ȱ trays ȱ in ȱ Objet ȱ Studio, ȱ they ȱ are ȱ saved ȱ as ȱ objtf ȱ files. ȱ
These ȱ files ȱ contain ȱ instructions ȱ to ȱ Objet ȱ Studio ȱ and ȱ to ȱ Stratasys ȱ printers ȱ for ȱ
displaying ȱ and ȱ producing ȱ the ȱ stl ȱ files ȱ used ȱ on ȱ the ȱ tray. ȱ To ȱ conveniently ȱ
save ȱ all ȱ of ȱ the ȱ files ȱ as ȱ they ȱ are ȱ positioned ȱ on ȱ the ȱ build ȱ tray, ȱ for ȱ storing ȱ the ȱ
job, ȱ or ȱ for ȱ transferring ȱ it ȱ to ȱ another ȱ location, ȱ Objet ȱ Studio ȱ compresses ȱ them ȱ
into ȱ one ȱ objzf ȱ file. ȱ To ȱ later ȱ use ȱ the ȱ objzf ȱ file, ȱ the ȱ file ȱ must ȱ first ȱ be ȱ expanded ȱ
in ȱ Objet ȱ Studio ȱ and ȱ its ȱ component ȱ files ȱ saved.
Note: If you export an objzf file containing a stl file originally saved as read-
only, you cannot open (import) this objzf file to the folder where the
read-only stl file is saved.
To create an objzf file:
1. From ȱ the ȱ Objet ȱ Studio ȱ Commands ȱ menu ȱ , ȱ select ȱ
Export Packed Job
.
The ȱ Save ȱ As ȱ dialog ȱ box ȱ opens.
2. Select ȱ the ȱ appropriate ȱ folder ȱ and ȱ change ȱ the ȱ file ȱ name ȱ (if ȱ necessary).
3. Click ȱ Save .
To open an objzf file:

Double Ȭ click ȱ on ȱ the ȱ objtf ȱ file.

1. From ȱ the ȱ Objet ȱ Studio ȱ Commands ȱ menu ȱ , ȱ select ȱ
Import Packed Job

2. In ȱ the ȱ Open ȱ dialog ȱ box, ȱ display ȱ the ȱ appropriate ȱ folder ȱ and ȱ select ȱ the ȱ
file.
3. In ȱ the ȱ Browse ȱ for ȱ Folder ȱ dialog ȱ box, ȱ display ȱ the ȱ folder ȱ in ȱ which ȱ you ȱ
want ȱ Objet ȱ Studio ȱ to ȱ expand ȱ the ȱ compressed ȱ file, ȱ and ȱ click ȱ
OK
.
The ȱ objtf ȱ file ȱ and ȱ associated ȱ stl ȱ files ȱ are ȱ expanded ȱ and ȱ placed ȱ in ȱ the ȱ
selected ȱ folder, ȱ and ȱ the ȱ tray ȱ is ȱ displayed ȱ in ȱ Objet ȱ Studio.
Note: You can also export a print job as an objzf file from the Job Manager
screen—see “Exporting Jobs (objzf)” on page 80.
