Audible alarms
The HDXS-C200 server provides three types of audible
alarms to indicate fan, temperature and power problems
within the server. Troubleshoot in accordance with the
tables given below.
Faulty Fans must be replaced as soon as possible to avoid
overheating of the server. Prolonged overheating of the
server will result in the server being automatically
shutdown.
Single beep
Double beep
Continuous beep
Caution
Symptom
Possible Problem
Recommended Action
Server emits a single
audible beep (one per
second), which indicates
a system fan failure.
Note:
The audible alarm
does not sound if a
system fan failure occurs
prior to boot-up.
The number of revolutions
of the fan is falling or the fan
has stopped.
Temperature detection
circuit fault on the System
Power Board.
Check the voltage on Motherboard power connectors (24-pin, 8-pin, 4-
pin) using a multimeter (see
Trace the voltage from the Power Supply to the Fan.
“System cooling fan replacement” on page
).
Replace faulty System Power Board (see
(containing motherboard and CPUs)” on page 92
).
Symptom
Possible Problem
Recommended Action
Server emits a double
audible beep (two per
second), which indicates
that the temperature
inside the chassis has
exceeded the preset
value 38°C.
The number of revolutions
of the fan is falling or the fan
has stopped.
