Motherboard BIOS manager
Introduction
The built-in BIOS manager may be used to configure and
manage the BIOS settings and firmware on the
Motherboard.
Accessing the utility
The Motherboard BIOS manager is accessed by pressing
the function key
F2 when prompted by the on-screen
display during the boot up procedure.
Manually entering server BIOS
settings
The HDXchange server requires only several minor
changes to be made to the default Motherboard BIOS
settings. Therefore, if the settings are lost (for example,
when the Motherboard CMOS battery fails) the correct
BIOS settings can be quickly entered manually, as detailed
in the procedure below.
To manually enter the BIOS settings:

Power on the server and press F2 to go into the
Motherboard BIOS.

Check the BIOS and FW revisions match the
following:
BIOS = 84 BMC = 62 FRU / SDR = 46

Press F9 to load optimized defaults and then change
ONLY the following:
• Main Page - Set the date and time.
• Main Page - Change Quiet Boot to Disabled.
• PCI Configuration - Disable both Onboard NIC
ROMS
• System Acoustics and Performance - Change
Throttling mode to Closed Loop
• Server Management Page - Enable Clear system
event log
• Boot Options - Check the boot order is:
DVD drive – SATA 0 Drive – Disabled

Save and Exit.
