About this chapter
This chapter lists the spare parts that are available for the
server unit and provides exploded views of the unit to
permit identification of the component parts.
Notes on spare parts
Ordering spare parts
Spare parts for server unit can be ordered through your
local Sony representative, quoting the order code shown in
the table (see
“Parts list” on page 100 ).
Use officially sourced parts
• The parts used in this server have been specifically
selected for their performance. The use of parts not
obtained from an approved source may compromise the
operation and performance of this equipment and will
invalidate any warranty.
• Parts must only be replaced by qualified personnel. No
liability can be accepted for damage resulting from parts
replaced by non-qualified or approved personnel.
• Users should ensure at all times that their material is
backed up. No liability can be accepted for the loss of
users’ data through whatever cause.
Safety related parts warning
Parts marked with are critical to the safe
operation of this equipment. These parts must always
be replaced with Sony-approved parts.
Substitution of parts
Parts supplied by Sony may differ from those listed in the
table (see
“Parts list” on page 100 ). Such parts, where
supplied, will be appropriately tested and approved for
your server as direct replacements, and will deliver an
equivalent or improved specification for your server.
Harnesses
Harnesses without part numbers are not registered as spare
parts.
