Introduction
About this manual
This Service Manual provides information and procedures
for servicing the HDXchange server, HDXS-C200. The
information contained in this manual is intended for
qualified service engineers to diagnose faults, replace parts
and maintain HDXchange systems on-site.
This manual is designed to identify problems within the
server hardware only; if the problem is associated with the
HDXchange software or its operation, then the appropriate
manual should be consulted. For faults or repairs outside of
the scope of this manual, return the server to your Sony
representative for repair.

This document provides information and procedures for
setting up an HDXchange system. It contains details of the
web-based administration tools, used to configure and
manage the system.
Manual structure
This Service Manual is organised into the following
chapters:
• Chapter 1 Overview - provides an introduction to the
manual and a functional overview of the equipment.
• Chapter 2 Description - identifies the hardware
components parts, and explains their function. It also
describes any jumpers, switches and LEDs.
• Chapter 3 Servicing - describes the servicing tasks that
are required, and the precautions to be used for the safety
of the service engineer and the care of the equipment.
• Chapter 4 Utilities - describes the software utilities that
may be used to aid the service engineer with diagnostic
functions, testing and configuration of the equipment.
• Chapter 5 Troubleshooting - identifies fault symptoms
and describes the probable cause and recommends the
action to rectify the problem.
• Chapter 6 Parts Replacement - provides procedures
for replacing hardware component parts.
• Chapter 7 Maintenance - describes the recommended
periodic maintenance for the equipment.
• Chapter 8 Spare Parts - lists the replaceable parts, and
their part numbers to enable ordering of spare parts.

read
Chapters 1 and 2 .
To learn about the servicing tasks to be performed on this
equipment, please read
Chapters 3 .
The information provided in Chapter 5 will help you
identify the fault symptom and determine the likely cause
of the problem, and the action you should take to rectify
the problem.
Chapter 6 will describe how to repair the equipment by
replacing faulty parts and Chapter 4 will describe
diagnostic tests that can be done to prove that the server
has been returned to health.
