Operating Modes
Important:
At the time of publication, A-mode was not cleared for use by the U.S. Food
and Drug Administration. Before using A-mode, check the current regulations for the
country in which you are using this system to determine if A-mode is cleared for use.
A-mode:
A-mode is the amplitude mode. It can be displayed in a
2D-mode image.
2D-mode:
2D-mode is the default setting. When the system is powered
on, the image screen displays in 2D-mode.
Split (B+B) mode:
Split mode creates side-by-side images from one
2D-mode image. The two images are simultaneously real-time or frozen.
Dual-mode:
Dual-mode displays two acquired 2D-mode images.
Because the images are obtained separately, only one image at a time
displays in real-time.
4B-mode:
Requires software version 1.2 or higher: 4B-mode displays
four acquired 2D-mode images. One image at a time displays in
real-time.
2D/M-mode:
2D/M-mode displays a 2D image and an M-mode sweep.
Split 2D/M-mode:
Split 2D/M-mode displays simultaneous 2D-mode
images with an M-mode sweep.
M-mode:
Full screen M-mode display is available.
Pulsed Doppler:
Pulsed Doppler can display a spectrum simultaneously
with a 2D image. An update function is available to toggle a frozen 2D
image with a real-time spectrum, or a real-time 2D image with a frozen
spectrum. During 2D/M-mode with Doppler, the M-mode sweep is
synchronized with the Doppler spectrum.
Steerable Continuous Wave Doppler
1
:
Steerable Continuous Wave
Doppler is available when a phased array transducer is connected to an
array port and the
CW
key is pressed.
Auxiliary Continuous Wave Doppler
2
:
Auxiliary Continuous Wave
Doppler is available when a continuous wave (pencil) transducer is
connected to the CW port and the
CW
key is pressed.
Color:
Color Flow displays in a 2D-mode image or M-mode sweep.
Power:
Power mode detects and assigns color to the energy generated
by the reflections of blood flow.
Directional Power:
Directional power mode detects and assigns color
to the energy and direction generated by the reflections of blood flow.
