7.4 Requirements

Checking the safety function
Note
You should check the safety function while the device is mounted, if possible. If this is not
possible, you can also check the safety function when the device is not mounted. Make sure
that the pressure transmitter is mounted in the same position for testing as it is in the system.
Requirement: Button lock and access protection are deactivated. See "5.2 Keypad Lock"
(Page 140) and "5.3 Access Management" (Page 141).
We recommend that:
● You check the status for warnings and alarms.
● You check the measured value limits.
● Simulate various currents and the minimum and maximum fault currents.
● Verify that the measuring tolerance is within the range of the application-specific
measuring error for the safety function.

Set the measured value display to a unit of pressure. See "2.5.5 Measvaluedisplay"
(Page 118).
– You check the zero point, for example, in a pressure-less state.
– Check the upper limit of the measuring range (URL) and the upper limit of the set
measuring span (URV) by applying a defined pressure.
– Reset the measured value display to the required unit. See "2.5.5 Measvaluedisplay"
(Page 118).
● Check the triggering of the safety function.
Activating button lock and access protection
After parameterizing/commissioning:
1.
Activate the button lock and access protection. See: "5.2 Keypad Lock" (Page 140) and
"5.3 Access Management" (Page 141).
Operation via keys and HART communication is blocked.
2. Protect the keys from unintended change in the parameters, e.g. by lead-sealing.
7.4 Requirements
Functional safety has the following requirements:
● Do not simulate an output current or a pressure value. Check the "2.3.1 Output Current"
(Page 102) and "2.3.2 Pres. Simulation" (Page 102) parameters.
● Do not execute parameter "2.4.2.1 Restore". The device would then be reset to the
factory settings. Refer to "2.4.2.1 Restore" (Page 105).
