Pause Dialing
When you call an automated system (like a bank or vo i c e m a i l
“ t e l e s e rv i c e ” ) , you are usually re q u i red to enter a passwo rd
or account nu m b e r. Instead of entering the nu m b e rs manu a l-
ly each time, you can store the nu m b e rs in your Phone Book,
s e p a rated by special ch a ra c t e rs called pauses.
H e re is the definition of how a pause wo rks on your phone:

A digit that stops the dialing sequence until you press the
b u t t o n .
Your phone has two pause dialing methods: pause dialing
f rom the Phone Book (see “ Pause Dialing From a Store d
Phone Book Entry ” on page 27) and manual pause dialing
(see “ M a nual Pause Dialing”on page 27).
Storing Pauses in a Phone Book Entry
To store a number in your Phone Book that contains pauses:
1 . Enter the phone number you want to connect to (such as
the bank’s teleservice phone nu m b e r ) .
2 . P ress
to insert a pause. The letter “ p ”d i s p l ays in the
nu m b e r, meaning that a hard pause will occur at that
point in the dialing sequence.
Note:
The digits befo re the “ p ”dial the tele-serv i c e .The “ p ”
stops the dialing and waits for the teleservice to prompt yo u
for a nu m b e r.The number fo l l owing the “ p ”is your account
nu m b e r, P I N, e t c .
3 . Enter the digits that need to fo l l ow the pause (such as
your account nu m b e r ) .
4 . S t o re the number as you norm a l ly would by pressing the
key and entering a name.
