Fax and Data Calls
Your Samsung phone is capable of sending and receiving dig-
ital data and fax calls when connected to a computing dev i c e
( l a p t o p ,d e s k t o p ,h a n d h e l d ,p a l m t o p , etc.) running Wi n d ow s
9 5 ,Wi n d ows 98, or Wi n d ows NT. Your Samsung phone func-
tions just like a typical modem on your PC, e n abling you to
use wireless data involving a wide va riety of Wi n d ows soft-
wa re applications.
To use digital data with your Samsung phone, you will need
to obtain a digital data/fax kit from your service prov i d e r.
This kit will contain the necessary cabl e s ,s o f t wa re , and docu-
mentation re q u i red for you to connect and use your Samsung
phone with your computing dev i c e .
N o t e :The phone must be on a digital netwo rk to re c e i ve or
send fa xes and data.
Receiving a Fax
1 . E n s u re that your phone is connected to your PC and is
p owe red on.
2 . P ress to display the Main Menu .
3 . P ress for Setup.
4 . P ress for Data / Fa x .
5 . Use the scroll keys to select “Incoming Fax Only ” .
6 . P ress to save the setting. The screen displays “ N o
incoming voice calls can be re c e i ve d ” . Your phone then
re t u rns to Standby mode and displays “ * Fax Only * ”
