Function parameters
Function parameters allow certain functions to be carried out, eg testing of
display, keys, memory and the status indication for the active sensor. The
function is selected in the same way as with a selection parameter. The NRT
either returns to the measuring mode by itself, or the function must be termi-
nated by a keystroke.
Numeric parameters
The numeric parameters include test frequency, reference value, SWR alarm
limit, etc. They can be assigned any values by the user. The numeric entry is
described in detail in the following Section 2.2.5.2.
After termination of the numeric entry, further settings can be made within the
menu. An exception are the numeric parameters in submenus since after
their valid entry the next higher menu is activated.

Entries
Editable characters
Unless there are restrictions for an individual numeric parameter, it is possi-
ble to edit the sign, decimal point, prefix, unit and all numeric digits. The im-
mediately editable digit blinks (highlighted grey in the example shown).
Activating individual
digit positions
With the aid of the horizontal cursor keys
and
in the menu field the
cursor can be set to any significant digit of the number. This applies also to
the sign, decimal point, prefix and unit.
Editing individual digit
positions
The vertical cursor keys
and
in the menu field are for changing the
digit incrementally.
•
Blinking digits are incremented or decremented. A correct carry to the
neighbouring digits is made, if 9 is overranged or 0 underranged.
•
If the blinking decimal point is edited, it is shifted to the right or left and
divides or multiplies the value by ten.
•
Editing of a blinking prefix switches to the next higher prefix, eg from k to
M, ie the value is multiplied or divided by 1000.
•
The blinking sign can be changed from “+“ to “-“ and vice versa.
•
If the unit is blinking, it can also be changed, eg from W to dBm.
