*PSC 0 | 1
POWER ON STATUS CLEAR determines whether the contents of the ENABle registers is
maintained or reset in switching on.
*PSC 0
causes the contents of the status registers to be maintained. Thus a service request
can be triggered in switching on in the case of a corresponding configuration of
status registers ESE and SRE.
*PSC 1
resets the registers.
Query *PSC? reads out the contents of the power-on-status-clear flag. The response can be 0 or 1.
*RCL 0 to 4
RECALL calls the instrument state which was stored under the number concerned using com-
mand *SAV. The effect of *RCL x is identical with the manual selection of setup x. *RCL 0 sets
the instrument to the default state (see also *RST command and annex E).
*RST
RESET sets the instrument to the defined default status (see annex E).
*SAV 1 to 4
SAVE stores the current instrument state under the number indicated (cf. *RCL as well).
*SRE 0 to 255
SERVICE REQUEST ENABLE sets the service request enable register to the value indicated. Bit
6 (MSS mask bit) remains 0. This command determines under which conditions a service request
is triggered. Query *SRE? reads the contents of the service request enable register in decimal
representation. Bit 6 is always 0.
*STB?
READ STATUS BYTE QUERY reads out the contents of the status byte in decimal representa-
tion.
*TRG
TRIGGER triggers a measurement. The result can be directly read with an IEC-readout com-
mand (e.g. IBRD...). See Section 3.5.2, Trigger and Measurement during Remote Control.
*TST?
SELF TEST QUERY triggers all selftests of the instrument indicated in Section 3.5.14, TEST
Subsystem, and outputs an error code in decimal representation.
*WAI
WAIT-to-CONTINUE only permits to execute the subsequent commands after all preceding
commands have been completely executed (cf. Section 3.7, Status Reporting System and "
*OPC
"
as well).
3.5.5 Measurement
Instructions
According to the SCPI convention, the purpose of measurement instructions is to acquire data. Most of
the measurement instructions exhibit both command and query characteristics.
In the NRT the measurement instruction READ? is implemented as follows:
READ?
Like the common command *TRG, READ? triggers a measurement but returns the result in bi-
nary form (see chapter 3.5.2, Trigger and Measurement during Remote Control).
