1.2.5 Power Fuses
The NRT is fully fused by two fuses IEC127-T2.0H/250 V. The fuses are accommodated in the pull-out
fuse holder below the power connector. Before replacing the fuses, disconnect the power cord from the
NRT. Use a screwdriver to lift the fuse holder below the power connector and pull it out. Use only fuses
of the above type. Two spare fuses are supplied with the accessories.
1.2.6 Power Up
ON/STBY
The NRT is switched on with the ON / STBY key on the front panel. After
power up, the version number, date and IEC-bus address should be visi-
ble on the display (see Section 1.2.10). The NRT has no special pilot light
for signalling the power-up state.
If switching on is not possible, test the connection to the AC supply and eventually exchange the two
power fuses (see Section 1.2.5).
Pressing the key twice switches the NRT to the standby mode. In the standby mode, most of the elec-
tronics, the display and the power supply of the sensors are switched off. The connection to the AC sup-
ply is maintained and can only be interrupted by disconnecting the power cord.
The NRT is automatically switched on - without pressing the ON / STBY key - as soon as AC supply volt-
age is applied. The NRT can thus centrally be switched on in a rack.
1.2.7 Connecting a Sensor to the NRT
SENSOR
Power measurements with the NRT are possible in conjunction with a
sensor of type NRT-Z or NAP-Z. All sensors can be connected or discon-
nected any time and irrespective of the power-up status of the instrument.
NRT sensors are connected to the SENSOR connector on the front panel.
If option NRT-B2 is used, they can also be connected to one of the two
rear-panel connectors SENSOR 2 or SENSOR 3.
SENSOR 0
NAP sensors can be connected to the NRT in conjunction with option
NRT-B1. A 15-contact connector designated SENSOR 0 is available on
the rear panel.
If several sensors are connected to the NRT simultaneously the active sensor is selected via the SEL
(LOCAL) key and the verical cursor keys (see Sections 2.1.7 and 2.2.4).
