2.2.5 Menu 

Operation

The NRT basic unit provides a large variety of settings. Parameters that are not frequently changed are
accessible via three menus. Each menu has its own key:

CONFig menu

Configuration of measurement function and indication

CONF

 key

CORRection menu

Functions for improving the measurement accuracy

CORR

 key

UTILity menu

Miscellaneous functions (interfaces, battery operation, setup
settings, battery time counter, tests)

UTIL

 key

Switching on
the menu

To activate a menu, press the relevant menu key.

Scrolling
in menu

Each menu consists of several menu items which can be scrolled up and
down with the vertical cursor keys 

 and 

. Only those menu items are

visible which are supported by the active sensor. For selection of the sensor
see Section 2.1.7.

Each menu item is characterized by a name describing its function, eg
“RESOL“ for resolution.

Switching off

  To return to the measured value indication, press any key in the POWER

or REFLECTION keypad.

After changing a menu item, the NRT automatically returns to the measuring
mode as soon as the entry is terminated by pressing the 

SEL(LOCAL) 

input

key.

2.2.5.1 

Types of Menu Parameters

According to their function and operation, the menu parameters can be subdivided into three groups:

Selection parameters

Selection parameters allow setting of one of several states of a menu, eg
measurement of the peak envelope power (PEP) within the 

ENV KEY

 menu

item. The total choice of states is shown in the display. If there is not suffi-
cient space, arrows at the right or left end of the menu line indicate that there
are more settings available. The currently set state is marked by the setting
marker (selected state is underlined). Selection parameters can be edited
without further entries. The horizontal keys 

 and 

 in the menu field can

be used to select another state which is marked by a blinking underscore
(selection marker).

With the 

SEL

LOCAL

 key the selected state is accepted and set as current state.

The NRT returns to the measuring mode, opens a submenu with further se-
lection parameters or requests the entry of a numeric parameter.
