Set Port
This command is used to set the CubiScan 25 TCP port number. In TCP/IP networks, port
numbers are used to distinguish between different logical channels on the same network
interface on the same computer. For example, port 80 is used for HTTP traffic on the Internet.
Some ports have numbers assigned to them by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA).
These are known as “well-known ports” and are limited to numbers 0 through 1023. Ports 1024
through 49151 are “registered ports” listed by the IANA, and can be used by ordinary user
processes on most systems. Ports 49152 through 65535 are called “dynamic and/or private ports”
and are free for use. It is recommended that the CubiScan 25 TCP port be set to a number
between 49152 and 65535 to avoid conflicts. Consult your network administrator to select the
port number.
