Making Controller Settings
In a dual-controller RAID subsystem, settings made to one controller are applied to both controllers.
To make controller settings:
1.
Click the
Device
tab.
2.
Click the
Component List
icon.
3. For the controller you want to configure, then click the Gear icon and select the
Settings
option.
4. Make settings changes as required:
• Enter, change or delete the
alias in the
Alias
field.

HDD Power Saving
– Choose time periods from the drop-down menus.
After an HDD has been idle for the set period of time:
* Power Saving Idle Time
– Parks the read/write heads.
* Power Saving Standby Time
– Lowers disk rotation speed.
* Power Saving Stopped Time
– Spins down the disk (stops rotation).

Coercion
– Check the box to enable or uncheck to disable.
•
Coercion Method
– Choose a method from the drop-down menu:

Write Back Cache Flush Interval
– Enter a value into the field, 1 to 12 seconds.

Enclosure Polling Interval
– Enter a value into the field, 15 to 255 seconds.

– Check the box to enable or uncheck to disable.

Host Cache Flushing
– Check the box to enable or uncheck to disable.
•
Forced Read Ahead
(cache) – Check the box to enable or uncheck to disable.
•
SMART Log
– Check the box to enable or uncheck to disable.
•
SSD Trim Support
– Check the box to enable or uncheck to disable.
•
SMART Polling Interval
– Enter a value into the field, 1 to 1440 minutes
•
Pseudo Device Type
- From the drop-down menu, choose:
