Menu Operations
Main Menu
The Main Menu simply displays the names of all the other Menus contained in the
PCC-IV. The Main Menu provides the means to access the other Menus. Press the
desired submenu soft-button to access that submenu.
NOTE:
Every menu and sub-menu screen has an ACK button that allows you to silence the
alarm and / or jump to the Alarm History screen.
Every menu and sub-menu also has a BACK button to change to the previous screen
and finally to exit the menus and return to the operator faceplate screen.
Quick Parameters Menu
The purpose of the Quick Parameters menu is to provide the user with rapid access
to frequently used blockware parameters. Examples: PID Gain, High and Low alarm
setpoints, equipment startup delay time, and warm-up ramp rate of change. The Quick
Menu can have up to 10 lines:
“Last Parameter” plus up to 9 Quick selection line
items. The Quick menu line item descriptions, Block Numbers, and Parameter
numbers are configured by the blockware designer.
To edit a Quick Parameter item, press the soft-button next to the associated item you
wish to change. A soft keypad will pop up, and assuming the Password level is correct,
the user will be able to enter any valid value for the selected parameter. The new
value will be saved after pressing Enter. The Esc key will clear the value, and the
Back button will go back without making any changes.
If the current Password is not at the correct level or if S/M mode is required and not
set, then the Parameter cannot be edited, and an error message will be displayed.
Last Parameter
The first line in the Quick Parameters menu will be the last parameter edited or viewed from the Browse Blocks
menu. This allows the user to quickly edit the last parameter that was changed. The PCC-IV saves the last
parameter linkage automatically and retains the link even after leaving the Main menu.
Example: if you are tuning a PID Block and use the Browse Blocks menu to change the PID Gain value, go back to
the process display mode, observe the process response, and then re-enter the Quick Parameters Menu. The first
parameter in the list will be the PID Gain value that was just changed.
The Last Parameter link is lost when the PCC-IV powers down or re-boots, and t
he words “Last Parameter” will be
displayed with no associated soft-button. The Last Parameter link is established and will again be in the Quick
Parameters menu after a Parameter is displayed via the Browse Blocks menu.
