Menu Operations
Entering Service Manual (S/M)
From the Main Menu, press Service Manual to enter the submenu. The top of the screen will display the S/M Status
of: None in SM, All in SM, or Some in SM. You have three options: Placing all AOUT & TOUT blocks into S/M,
placing all AOUT & TOUT blocks into Auto (normal), or placing one output at a time into S/M or Auto.
Set All Outputs to S/M
Pressing the
Set All Outputs to S/M
soft-button puts all the 4-20 mA and Triac output channels into S/M mode. If
you go back to the operator screen, the RUN light will start blinking.
Set All Outputs to Auto
Pressing the
Set All Outputs to Auto
soft-button starts the blockware error check routine. If no errors are detected,
the controller puts all the 4-20 mA and Triac output channels back under blockware control. If you go back to the
operator screen, the RUN light will stop blinking (assuming no blocks are forced).
If the blockware error check detects an error, an error message will indicate the nature of the error and the block
that is causing the error. The RUN light will continue to blink.
Change One Output to S/M or Auto
Pressing the
Change one output
soft-button allows the user to change one output at
a time from the next submenu. The three soft-buttons at the top determine which
output is being manipulated.
•
Board determines which board you are changing:
0 = CPU board, 1 = Option Card 1, 2 = Option Card 2, 3 = Option Card 3.
•
Channel determines which 4-20mA output channel number or Triac pair you
are changing:
1 = Channel 1, 2 = Channel 2, etc.…
•
Type determines whether you are modifying a 4-20 ma or Triac output:
AOUT = Analog Output (4-20 ma); TOUT = Triac Output
Example: Board = 1, Chanel = 2, Type = AOUT
– This means I am currently modifying
the 4-20 ma signal of channel 2 on option card 1.
The next two soft-buttons allow the user to place the selected output into S/M or Auto. The SM Flag value tells you
the output’s status (True = S/M, False = Auto).
Changing an Output Value in S/M Mode
When an output channel enters S/M mode, the output is held at the last value. The output will remain at the last
value until the operator changes the output from the
Change one output
submenu.
Select which output to manipulate as described above. Use the Channel Value soft-button to bring up a keypad to
enter any value, or use the INC & DEC
keys to change the displayed S/M output as follows:
AOUT
(i.e. 4-20 mA) channels: The numeric display is 0-100% of 4-20 mA. 0% = 4 mA, 100% = 20 mA.
The 4-20 vs. 20-4 Parameter in the AOUT Block does NOT change this scaling, 0% is always 4 mA.
TOUT
(i.e. Triac) channels: The INC
key turns ON the T1 (i.e. “Increase”) Triac of the selected pair. The
DEC
key turns ON the T2 (i.e. “Decrease”) Triac of the selected pair.
If the Triacs are driving an actuator,
do not depend on the S/M logic to indicate the actuator’s position on
the Numeric display. The o
perator must independently observe the actuator’s position and respond
accordingly.
The S/M logic will attempt to find a
TOUT
block that is assigned to the Triac channel being displayed, and
display that assigned
TOUT
block output on the numeric display. However, the displayed position is
blockware based, not S/M firmware based, therefore it can display an incorrect position if there are
blockware errors.
