Menu Operations
The parameters in any block can be displayed at any time. However, if the Password system is enabled, values
can only be changed if the correct security password has been entered. See Section 6, Blockware Functions
–
Technical Reference, for the password level required to change each parameter.
The Function Type of a block and the input softwiring of a block cannot be modified from the front panel. This
requires a personal computer running the PC4_Draw software.
The number of items (i.e., lines) in the Browse Blocks menu depends on the Function Type in the block that is being
displayed. This menu has up to four groups of line items:
•
Function Name
o
The first line of text for each block will display the block # and type (I.e. ****B5 FPCON*** would
indicate Block 5 which is a Front Panel Constant (FPCON) block).
•
A line for each Input (if there is a softwired input)
o
Each Input will first list the Input name.
o
The next line will indicate the value entering the block at that input.
o
These two lines will be repeated for each Input if there are multiple block Inputs.
•
A line for each Parameter (if any)
o
Each Parameter will first list the parameter name.
o
The next line will be a soft-button displaying the current value of the parameter. See below for
editing parameters.
o
These two lines will be repeated for each parameter if there are multiple block parameters.
•
Output
o
Finally, the block output will be displayed. The first line will say “Output.”
o
The next line will be a soft-button displaying the current value of the output. See below for forcing
outputs.
Section 6, Blockware Functions
– Technical Reference, provides a detailed description of each function type.
How to use Browse Blocks
Navigation
The upper left soft-button displays which block is currently at the top of the screen. I.e. B17 means that Block 17 is
the uppermost block on the screen. Pressing this soft-button brings up a keyboard that allow the user to type in a
number and navigate directly to the desired block number.
The next three soft-buttons are filters used to make navigation easier. By pressing the IN soft-button, the user can
remove all Inputs from the list. The OUT soft-button removes all but the first output of each block (auxiliary outputs),
and the PAR soft-button removes all Parameters from the list.
Note: Only blocks that are used in the current blockware are displayed in the list. Therefore, some block numbers
may be skipped.
The user can also scroll through the list of blocks by pressing the arrows at the top and bottom of the navigation
bar on the right of the screen; by touching the navigation bar itself to jump up or down the list; or by sliding their
finger up and down the screen to scroll through the list of blocks.
Change a Parameter
To change a parameter, press the soft button beneath the parameter you wish to change. This will bring up a keypad
that allows to user to enter any valid value
– assuming the correct password level is active. Pressing ENTER makes
the change. Press ESC to erase what is displayed and press Back to return to the previous screen without making
any changes. See Section 6 for a complete description of Parameters and the password level required to change
them.
Forcing Block Outputs
As an aid to trouble-shooting and field wiring check-out, PCC-
IV Block Outputs can be temporarily “FORCED” to
remain at a user selected, fixed value. When
AOUT, TOUT, DOUT,
or
ROUT
Block outputs are FORCED, the
hardware o
utputs will be set to the equivalent value (see also “Forcing
TOUT
in Dual Triacs Mode”).
