MAINTENANCE
The facsimile machine only requires a minimum of maintenance by the user; the attention paid to preventive
maintenance is important, however, and has a positive effect on the printing quality of the documents received
and copied.
There are routine operations, for example: cleaning the optical reader, cleaning and purging the print head,
cleaning electrical contacts, checking the nozzles etc. which you can perform yourself should particular
technical
problems arise.
This chapter constitutes a practical guide to the cleaning operations and provides tips on how to solve
problems that arise during normal use of the facsimile machine.
REPLACING THE PRINT CARTRIDGE
The print cartridge can only be replaced if the facsimile machine has a print head with an interchangeable print
cartridge. The cartridge may be replaced up to a maximum of six times and then it may prove necessary to
replace the entire print head.
The facsimile machine is on and the message “NO INK” appears on the display. A blank sheet will
automatically be loaded under the print carriage.
