CHECK IF:
•
the operator console is properly closed;
•
the thickness of the document lies within the
specified limits;
•
the document is folded or crumpled;
•
the document is correctly inserted in the slot;
•
a document is jammed inside the machine;
•
the feed rollers are dirty.
You cannot send a document.
PROBLEM
You cannot feed in the document.
You cannot receive a document.
• the facsimile machine is switched on;
• there is no paper left and the memory is full;
• paper is jammed inside the machine and the memory
is full;
• with a telephone connected to the telephone socket of
the facsimile machine, the dialling tone can be heard (if
not, call the Customer Engineering Service).
You cannot print a document received in the
memory.

there is paper left;
•
paper is jammed inside the machine.
You cannot have a telephone conversation on
the facsimile machine.
• The telephone is connected correctly to the telephone
socket of the facsimile machine.
A document received or copied is not automa-
tically reduced.
• the “REDUCTION” parameter has been enabled in the
operating configuration (see the “Setting the operating
configuration parameters” section of the “PROGRAM-
MING” chapter).
The document received is completely blank.
The document sent is completely blank.
The document received is very light.
The document received is very dark.
There are vertical lines on the document
received.
There are vertical lines on the document copied.
• the optical reader glass is dirty.
• the printing nib is clean (see paragraph B1 of the
“Checking the print head nozzles” section).
• the optical reader glass of the sending unit is dirty.
• the document sent is very dark.
• the document sent is very light.
• the document was inserted face down into the facsimile
machine.
• the sender inserted the document correctly into his
facsimile machine

the facsimile machine is switched on;
•
the document is inserted correctly;
•
the receiving unit is set for reception.
•
when a telephone is connected to the telephone socket
