How to Lock Out the Power Switch
IMPORTANT
Some service procedures require locking out the On/Off switch to ensure operator safety. When
the switch is locked out, it is impossible to supply power to the printer.
Procedure
1.
Refer to the Shutdown procedure "How to Power Off", at the beginning of this section.
2.
Turn the AC power switch to the Off position.
3.
Apply a lock and a tag-out label to the Lock-out area of the switch for the duration of any service
or maintenance procedures.
4.
Perform service procedure (generally this is done by a service technician)
5.
When maintenance or service is complete, remove the lock and tag-out label and turn the AC
power switch to the On position.

How to Use the Disconnect Device
The AC power plug is the main disconnect device for the printer.

1. Follow the Lock-out procedure above.
2. For additional safety, also disconnect the AC power plug from the wall outlet.
3. When the printer is successfully moved or the repair work is complete, re-connect the power
plug and unlock the AC power switch.
