THE STARTUP SCREEN
TriCaster’s Startup Screen is the gateway to a suite of applications
as well as
session
and system maintenance and management
features.
Icons in the left-hand pane of the Startup Screen provide access to
numerous functions. We’ll discuss each of these in the pages that
follow, beginning with a review of the concept of sessions.
The Startup Screen appears whenever you launch TriCaster. From here, you create and launch
sessions, then choose what sort of activity you wish to pursue by selecting an icon from the
rotating selector on the Session Page.

Your intention may be to begin a new live production, or to produce another episode of a live
series. Perhaps you wish to do some video editing using SpeedEDIT, to prepare some titles for an
upcoming event, or to perform system maintenance.
We’ll look into each of these in turn, but first let’s consider a fundamental TriCaster TCXD300
concept – the
session
. What is a session, and why are sessions both important and valuable to
you?
