the previous example, if the last transition progressed from left-to-right, the next one will
automatically be reversed and thus run right-to-left.
TAKE ALL/TRANSITION ALL
Two useful Switcher features do not actually appear visibly on the Live Desktop.
Take All
and
Transition All
work very similar to their ‘shorter’ namesakes, differing in only one respect – they
remove or display (as the need might be) the content of Overlay channel 1 (or both channels
when Overlay is locked).
These two features are performed using shortcut keystrokes – press “a” for Transition all, and “s”
for Take All. The optional LC-11 control surface provides buttons for both functions, as well.
12.2.2
FTB
FTB
stands for “Fade to Black”. The function the button bearing that label performs will not
likely surprise you very much. Even so, this buttons constitutes the exception mentioned earlier.
While
Take
and
Transition
both perform a swap between the sources selected on
Program
and
Preview
rows, FTB does not. Rather, it does precisely what its name implies, fading
Program
Output
out completely (to black).
12.2.3
T-BAR
The
T-Bar
mimics the similar control on a traditional video switcher, and allows
you to
manually
perform a transition between sources assigned to the
Program
and
Preview
rows.
To use the T-bar, pull it downward by dragging it with the mouse pointer. When you drag it all
the way to the bottom and release, the transition is completed. The T-Bar then pops back to the
top position.
Naturally, when the T-bar is dragged part way, a partial transition occurs. With certain
transitions this can be useful for split screen effects.
