VU Meters and dB FS
TriCaster’s
VU meters
are calibrated in
dB FS
, which stands for “dB Full Scale” (decibels relative
to full scale). Digital audio systems have a maximum peak level, which is 0dB on the dB FS scale.
This means that 0 dB FS is the maximum possible audio level, which can never be exceeded.
