Search for tips by "Fixing a problem"
The following operation displays tips to help resolve problems.
1. Click [Fixing a problem] in the [Help and Support Centre] dialog box.
2. Select the topic that best applies to your problem.
3. The details of the selected topic appear on the right window.
4. Select an item from the list in the window.
5. The possible causes and solutions of the problem appear in the right window. Take actions
according to the directions on the screen.
Search for desired items by keywords
The following procedure allows you to specify keywords to search for tips.
1. Enter a keyword in the [Search] field of the [Help and Support Centre] dialog box.
2. Click [
] next to the [Search] field.
3. Related topics appear.
4. Select an item from the topics by clicking on it.
5. The description of the item appears on the right window.
Clicking [Set search options] below the [Search] field enables you to search for information from other
sources.
Search "Troubleshooting Q&A" for applicable solutions.
There are also some frequently asked questions and answers that might provide an insight to your
problem.

If a problem occurs while an application is being used, refer to the User’s Guide or help of the
application. README files are often provided with applications that include important information
which may not be included in user’s guides and help. Use a text editor such as Notepad to read
README files.

Recover BIOS settings to factory defaults
You can return the BIOS settings to the factory default values by using the following procedure:
1. Turn on ShieldPRO.
2. Press
F2
on the NEC Logo screen. The BIOS Setup Utility Menu screen appears.
3. Press
F9
. A confirmation message appears.
4. Ensure that [Yes] is selected and press
Enter
.
5. Press
F10
. A confirmation message appears.
