4.8.
Cleaning
4.8.1.
Preparation for Cleaning
Use dry and clean cloths made of soft materials to clean ShieldPRO if dirt is minimal.
To clean more stubborn dirt, use clean cloths soaked with water or lukewarm water and wrung to
remove excess water.
Do not use volatile organic solvents including thinner and benzene or chemical rags to clean
ShieldPRO. Failure to follow this instruction may cause the exterior casting to be damaged or a fault to
occur.
Do not pour excessive amounts of water on ShieldPRO directly. Failure to follow this instruction may
cause ShieldPRO to be damaged.
4.8.2.
Cleaning Components
4.8.2.1.
Main unit, touch pad and keyboard
1. Wipe the main unit, touch pad and keyboard with the prepared cloths.
2. If dust is in the gaps in the keyboard, remove it by using commercial computer cleaner.
3. If dust cannot be removed, contact your ShieldPRO supplier.
4.8.2.2.
LCD display
Wipe the LCD display with a soft, dry and clean cloth. Do not use a wet cloth.
4.8.2.3.
Power cord and AC adapter
If ShieldPRO is left connected to the power cord and/or AC adapter, dust and dirt may accumulate
on the connected plugs. Remove the dirt periodically.
4.8.2.4.
Fingerprint sensor (option)
The fingerprint sensor is touched directly and therefore may pick up dirt from fingers and may not
operate properly
Wipe the fingerprint sensor lightly with a soft, dry and clean cloth to remove dirt.
Do not use volatile organic solvents including thinner and benzene and chemical rags to clean the
fingerprint sensor.
Do not use a sharp object such as a ballpoint pen to clean the fingerprint sensor.
