Changing the configuration of peripheral devices (installing/removing a peripheral device),
Removing or replacing a floppy disk or CD-ROM,
Performing a system hardware change (including setting driver or adding printer),
Outputting data to a printer,
Playing audio or motion pictures,
Reading/writing data to/from SD card or hard disk,
Reading/writing data to/from floppy disk, CD-R or DVD-R,
Using an application not compatible with hibernate state feature,
Using a peripheral device or expanded board not compatible with hibernate state feature,
Executing the Windows start or exit procedure, or
Connecting with a network through fax modem or LAN by communication software.
Other notes
Always abort communication software before entering hibernate state. If hibernate state is
entered while communication is active, the line may be left open, and telephone line fees may
apply.
After recovery from hibernate state, nothing may appear on the LCD display. If so, move the
mouse or press any key on the keyboard to activate the display.
ShieldPRO may not be resumed properly if a SCSI PC card is used, depending on the
combination of the SCSI PC card and the connected device.
Do not connect or disconnect a USB device to/from ShieldPRO while ShieldPRO transits to
hibernate state.
Do not replace disks and PC and SD cards while ShieldPRO transits to hibernate state. Failure
to follow this instruction may cause data to be saved improperly.
Changing the device configuration in hibernate state may cause ShieldPRO to recover from the
state improperly.
Wait for five seconds or longer after transition to hibernate state before resuming the session.
Resolution taken if resume is done improperly
The following situations indicate that ShieldPRO has not been resumed from hibernate state
properly:
Applications do not operate,
ShieldPRO cannot recover to the original state it was in before it entered into hibernate state,
and
Pressing the power switch cannot make ShieldPRO recover from hibernate state.
If an application generates any of the above situations, do not use hibernate state feature.
If ShieldPRO cannot be resumed by pressing the power switch momentarily, press the power
switch continuously for four seconds or longer. The power lamp disappears and the power is turned
