5.11. Display Resolution
The default resolution and the default number of colours are set at shipment of ShieldPRO.
For a higher resolution, connect ShieldPRO with an external monitor supporting a higher resolution.
The table below shows the display modes available to ShieldPRO.

* ShieldPRO allows external monitors resolutions in the range from 640×480 to 1920×1200 and the
number of colours of 8, 16 and/or 32 bits. However, available resolutions and number of colours
may be limited by the external monitor.
Notes on colour:
8 bits = 256 colours
16 bits = High Colour or 65,536 (64 K) colours
32 bits = True Colour 16,770,000 (16 M) colours
(16.77 million colour display is accomplished by the dithering feature of the graphic accelerator.)
Some Operating Systems may limit display modes.

Adjusting Screen Display
To change the resolution or the number of colours of the screen, follow the procedure below:
For Windows XP:
1. Click [Start]
[Control Panel]
[Display]. The [Display Properties] dialog box appears.
2. Select the [Settings] tab to set the resolution and/or the number of colours of the screen.
