If more than one access point exists in the
surrounding area, the connection can
automatically switch to another access point
depending on settings. If another access point
uses the same SSID (network name), change the
SSID.

PC card

The PC card does not operate.
Action
Confirm that the PC card is inserted
properly.
If the card requires an IRQ, confirm that at
least one IRQ is used.

The PC card provides communication
improperly.
Action
The relevant application might have been reset
when ShieldPRO was entered into suspend
(standby) or hibernate state. Abort the application
and start it again.
10.1.3.12.
Power management

ShieldPRO does not enter into suspend
(standby) or hibernate state automatically.
Action
If ShieldPRO is connected to another
computer or a bi-directional printer
accessing ShieldPRO at constant
intervals, ShieldPRO will not be entered
into suspend (standby) or hibernate state
automatically.
Confirm that the timeout of suspend
(standby) or hibernate state is enabled.
Abort all programs being executed if any.
In addition, disconnect the phone line if
used before entering ShieldPRO into
suspend (standby) state.
Some applications may not operate
properly if a peripheral device tries to use
the power management feature. Turn off
the power of ShieldPRO and then on
again.
If you are using an application or
peripheral device where this is the case,
do not enter ShieldPRO into suspend
(standby) state.
