3. ShieldPRO is switched off automatically.
4. Check that the power lights are all off, and then switch off the peripheral devices.
Do not press the power switch for more than four seconds to switch off ShieldPRO. Pressing the power
switch for longer than four seconds forces the power to be immediately shut off, causing all unsaved data to
be lost.

Suspend (standby) and resume
To temporarily switch ShieldPRO off without losing your computer state (programs running,
documents open), you can use suspend (standby) state. This will also dramatically reduce power
consumption.
In Windows it is necessary to change the power settings in Control Panel to be able to suspend
(standby) and then resume ShieldPRO with the power switch.
Click [Control Panel]
[Power Options]. Click the [Advanced] tab on the [Power Options Properties] dialog
box and select [Stand by] in field [When I press the power button on my computer].
Click [Control Panel]
[Power Options]. Click the [Advanced] tab on the [Power Options Properties] dialog
box and select [When I close the lid of my portable computer] in the [Standby] field.
Before you can suspend (standby) and then resume ShieldPRO, wait for five seconds or longer after the
change of the power lamp status.
To enter ShieldPRO into suspend (standby) state when in the power-on state manually, follow
either of the procedures below.
(1) Using power switch
Note that Windows must be set for “When I press the power key on my computer” =
Standby
Entering ShieldPRO into suspend (standby) state
1. Press the power switch in the power-on state.
2. The power lamp blinks green and ShieldPRO is set to suspend (standby) state.
Resuming ShieldPRO (recovering ShieldPRO from suspend (standby) state)
1. Press the power switch in suspend (standby) state.
2. The power lamp illuminates green and ShieldPRO recovers from suspend (standby) state
(or resumes).
