5.1.3 Spitting menu
Set up the Flushing operation while printing.
5.1.3.1 Spitting Pass Count menu
Set the frequency (spitting pass count) that the print head returns to the original flushing box when
setting "On Media" in the Spitting menu.
NOTE
• When increasing the spitting pass count, clogging may occur while printing continuously.
• If you set the spitting pass count to "0 times or less", the nozzle will become easily clogged because
spitting is not performed over the media.
In this instance, print quality cannot be guaranteed.
Setup item Setting Description
Spitting Origin Perform the flushing operation to return to the original
flushing box every time the print head goes and returns.
• [Enter] key: saves the setting and shifts to the
previous menu.

<On Media> Perform the flushing operation on the page margins.
Improve the print quality since returning to the original
flushing box.
• [Enter] key: saves the setting and shifts to the sub
menu.

Example
• -1 times: return to the flushing box on the original
side every time the print head goes and returns.
Spitting is not performed over the media.
• 0 times: the print head goes and returns until printing
finishes, and does not return to the flushing box.
Spitting is not performed over the media.
• 1 times: return to the flushing box on the original side
every time the print head goes and returns.
• 5 times: return to the flushing box on the original side
every time the print head goes and returns five times.
