STEP 1
Connect the smart tester
Turn the ignition ON
Initialise the diagnostic tool
Is the ECU
communicates with
the tool?
Intermittent problem exists
Refer the intermittent problem
inspection procedure

Ignition OFF
Ensure the main relay is fixed
properly in the connector (C9)
Remove the main relay
Check the functioning of relay by
providing 12V to terminal 86
and ground to terminal 85
Is a clicking sound
heard?
Replace the main relay with a
new one
Clear the DTC and verify
Is the value =Vbat?
Examine the open/short circuit
from battery positive to main
relay
Replace the wiring harness
Clear the DTC and verify
Ignition OFF
Ensure the 30 A fuse (F2) in
engine room fuse box is
functioning properly
Remove the main relay
Check the voltage between pin
4 of the main relay
connector(C9) and battery
ground
Check the voltage between pin
pin 2 of the main relay
connector (C9) and battery
ground
Go to STEP 4
