STEP 1
Connect the smart tester
Turn the ignition ON
Initialise the diagnostic tool
Record the DTC and clear
Turn ignition OFF
Turn ignition ON
Verify if P0697 is present?
Is P0697 present?
Intermittent problem exists
Refer the intermittent problem
inspection procedure
STEP 2
Ignition OFF
Accelerator pedal wiring
harness connector (C124)
DISCONNECTED
Ignition ON
Check the voltage between pin
2 of accelerator pedal wiring
harness connector and battery
ground
Is the value = 5
.0
±0.25 V
?
If the Voltage is greater than
5.25V , check for short to
battery of the APP1 sensor
reference voltage wire
If it is less than 4.75 ,examine
the short to ground of APP1
reference voltage wire
Replace the wiring harness
Clear the DTC and verify
If the DTC still exists ,replace the
EMS ECU with a new one
Replace the accelerator pedal
Clear the DTC and verify
