Appendix D

Assemble dropper tripod and place on interferometer base.

Place dropping chamber on tripod and lock in place.

Release the dropper travel lock.

If necessary, connect cables to ion pump and power up. Rough
pump the chamber, if necessary.

Check superspring levels and adjust, if necessary.

Place blue pads and tripod feet under dropping chamber tripod.

Raise each foot until it contacts nylon ball on tripod leg. Raise
dropper (two revolutions of each tripod foot).

Level dropper (cross level first, then long level).

Check superspring levels and adjust, if necessary.

Measure and record upper reference height.

Place computer/system controller on electronics case.

Connect computer power cable to power supply panel.

Connect ribbon cable from patch panel to computer.
