Removing and replacing consumable and structural parts
Replacement of consumable and structural parts is your responsibility. If Lenovo installs a consumable and
structural part at your request, you will be charged for the installation.
The illustrations in this document might differ slightly from your hardware.
Removing the cover
Use this information to remove the cover.
To remove the server cover, complete the following steps:
Step 1.
Read the safety information that begins on “Safety” on page v and “Installation guidelines” on
page 100.
Step 2.
Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables,
if necessary.
Note:
If you need to view any LEDs on the system board or front panel, ensure that you view
the LEDs before disconnect the power cords.
Step 3.
If the server has been installed in a rack, slide the server out from the rack enclosure.
Step 4.
Remember to check if the cover is locked. If it is locked, unlock the cover first.
