7.2.2 Resetting a Measurement
A measurement often needs to be reset when a radical noise event
takes place that is unnecessarily recorded in your data. For example, an
aircraft passes overhead when attempting to measure the background
noise in a normally quiet area.
To reset a measurement in progress, stop the measurement, then press
the
Reset
1
. This erases all data previously measured and resets the
run time clock to zero. A reset doesn’t reset stored data files, only the
current run. A reset can be initiated when the 831C is running, paused,
or stopped.
CAUTION
Current measurement data is not automatically saved. You
must manually store the data or use an Auto-Store option. Once you
store, your data is not lost during a reset. If you initiate a reset while a
measurement is running or paused, the 831C automatically stops the
measurement.
