18.4 Enabling Measurement History Sound Recording
With both 831C-ELA and 831C-SR, or 831C-MSR, firmware options installed,
you can set up the 831C to automatically initiate a sound recording snapshot
at the beginning of each measurement history period.
Before you begin:

Open the Setup Manager (

and create a
setup file with Measurement History enabled, as shown in

Step 1
Go to

On the right side (meter side) of the screen, select a measurement history
enabled setup file in the file list, then
press the top-left softkey (

) to
display the
Sound
tab.

Select a sound recording

Select the checkbox in-line with
Save Measurement Sound
, and enter a
Snapshot Time

When you select
Save Event Sound
, the shorter one of these 2
options is included in the resulting data file: either a recording of
the snapshot time, or the full event including the Snapshot time
and pretrigger time.

When you select
Save Measurement Sound
, a sound recording
at the beginning of each measurement history interval is included in
the resulting data file.

If you select
Compression
, sound recordings are saved in OGG
format. For details, see

The measurement sound
Snapshot Time
(< 9999 s) is the time
in seconds that records at the beginning of each measurement
interval.
