NOTE
DO NOT file or emery the mating surface. The finish must
be maintained.

Wipe the mating face with a lint free moist cloth,
rubbing the valve cover from inside to outside. See
Figure 3-41.

Degrease the mating face using isopropyl alcohol.
NOTE
8.
After degreasing, do not touch the mating surfaces
with hands or fingers.
9.
Using a clean brush apply a film of Loctite 7471
activator on the valve cover surface which should be
in contact with the brake housing. Wait 2 minutes.
See Figure 3-42.
IMPORTANT
DO NOT apply any activator on the shaft.
10. Install the new O-ring, item 045, and if the motor is
dual displacement, install the new O-ring, item 057.
See Figure 3-43.

NOTE
DO NOT touch the mating surface after coating it with the
activator.
11. Place a continuous bead of Loctite 638 glue on the
brake housing, following the median line of the
mounting bolt hole centers. See Figures 3-44 and
3-45.
12. Make sure the bead of glue is continuous, with no
gaps.
NOTE
NEVER apply the activator on the same surface as the
bead of glue.
