Puddles/leakage in area of rear
drive wheels.
Loose or faulty hydraulic fittings.
Loose brake line fittings.
Faulty seal/gasket in drive motor.
Faulty seals/gaskets in main
hydraulic pump.
• Locate source of leak. Tighten
and/or replace fittings.
• Be careful not to strip the threads,
rendering the fitting defective.
• Locate source of leak. Tighten
and/or replace fittings.
• Locate source of leak - drive
motor.
• Replace unit.
• See “Hydrostatic Drive - Rear,” on
page 3-37.
• Check the hydraulic pump
assembly for excessive wear, oil
leaks, loose or defective fittings.
• Replace seals or replace unit.

Grease blotches around front
steer wheels (especially on inside
of wheel rim).
Faulty grease seal in steer wheel
assembly.
• Check seal rings and wheel shaft
for damage in seal area.
• Replace the inner grease seal.

Races,” on page 3-21.
Puddles/leakage near center area
(neck) of the truck.
Loose hose or hydraulic fitting.
Faulty oil seal/gasket in power
steering motor.
Internal shaft seal worn or
damaged.
Worn coupling shaft and internal
seal.
• Locate source of leak, example,
pump or cylinder, oil tank drain line
fitting, etc. Tighten and/or replace
fittings.
• Be careful not to strip the threads,
rendering the fitting defective.
• Rebuild or replace the power
steering pump.
