Decommissioning
11.1
Important Notes on Shutdown/Return to Service
NOTICE
These instructions are required in particular for systems according to EN 61508
The plant owner must observe/execute the following during decommissioning:
•
Influence analysis with the evaluation of the influences on each connected system.
•
Hazard and risk analysis for the connected systems.
•
The routine for decommissioning must be documented. To do this, a template must be
created and made available for recording the individual steps during decommissioning.
•
Ensure that decommissioning/disposal may only be initiated by making an authorized re-
quest using the procedures for managing functional safety.
•
Permission to carry out the required decommissioning/disposal depends on the results of
the influence analysis.
•
Before decommissioning/disposal, a plan must be created containing procedures relating
to the following points:
•
Decommissioning of safety-related E/E/PE systems
•
Dismounting of safety-related E/E/PE systems
•
Return to the phase of the plant's safety life cycle to the safety-related E/E/PE systems
that were influenced by the decommissioning.
At least the following specifications of the PE system manufacturer (LAMTEC) apply to the de-
commissioner:
•
For decommissioning, the system must be switched to the safe state and the CMS and its
components must be disconnected from the power supply on all poles.
•
Observe the instructions of the burner or boiler manufacturer for disassembly.
•
The device itself must either be sent to the electronics disposal or returned to the burner
or boiler manufacturer.
•
LAMTEC GmbH must be informed about the decommissioning. The serial number of the
decommissioned device must also be transmitted.

Disposal Notes
The device contains electrical and electronic components and must not be disposed of as do-
