(KOV-14L, KSV-21, etc.,) is capable of storing all the keys your STE will need for secure operations.

The STE Government Program Office manages this web site, and you must get a

User ID and password to access many of its pages. Procedures to request access

are on the site. It normally takes one or two business days to activate your

account. You can contact the Webmaster at (410) 854-7071/7072.

2-4. GENERAL INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

The crypto card is not needed for the installation procedures. Therefore, your STE can be installed,
network programming completed, and the initial tests performed as soon as the service(s) are in place.
When the local facility or Telephone Company representatives have installed the required service(s), you
may proceed with the installation.

If the Office or Tactical STE desk set will be mounted on a wall, proceed to Paragraph

•

If the Office or Tactical STE desk set will be used as a standard desk unit, proceed to Paragraph

•

If installing a CEU, Data STE, STE-R, STE-RI, or a STE-RT proceed to Paragraph

procedures herein provide general guidance. Installation of these STEs is controlled by the using
activity. Therefore, refer to the site installation plans for details.

2-4.1

Wall Mounting Instructions for Office and Tactical STEs

1. A standard wall mounting plate (

) must be mounted at the desired location. The

mounting post center-to-center dimension (3.950 inches), shown in the front view, is critical to
mounting the STE; the other dimensions are not critical. All dimensions in the side view are
critical.

NOTE

The wedge has “L” shaped wall-mounting slots, so when mounting the terminal it

must be slid to the left and down to secure it to the plate.
