Remote Control Data Port Rate
When operating in remote control mode, the STE host data port can be configured to operate at either
38.4 kbps, or 115.2 kbps using the Remote Control data Port Rate Menu (
This setting is applicable whenever the STE is accepting remote control commands, or is in remote
control mode and is configured for asynchronous data. Otherwise, if the STE is in front panel mode, the
STE host data port will operate at the preset rate for “off-line” operations (e.g. software download, ACL
load, etc), or at the data rate selected via the Mode menu selection.
If the STE is operating in remote control mode and while in remote control mode synchronous data
operation has been selected, the STE will operate at the Remote Control Data Port rate when accepting
remote control commands, but will operate at the selected synchronous data rate when transferring data
traffic. The default remote control data port rate setting is 38.4 kbps.
